Dennis J. Kathcart is the President and co-founder of Hyperbaric
Oxygen Technologies, Incorporated, a medical service and management
company that provides wound care and hyperbaric medicine services
by contract to participating hospitals for the care and treatment
of those patients in need of this advanced treatment modality.
In addition, he provides personal agency staffing as a wound
care specialist at wound care centers in the Fort Worth/Dallas
Metroplex.
Dennis’ 30+ years in the medical field have included a variety
of staff and leadership positions in several specialties including
Aeromedical Evacuation, Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Critical
Care, Medical Education, Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. During
his career, he spent 24 years in the United States Air Force where
he achieved the highest enlisted rank and was the advisor to the
CEO of the Department of Defense’s largest medical facility.
His background in hyperbaric medicine began in 1984 and includes
the ground-up development, opening and operation of the first Department
of Defense clinical hyperbaric medicine facility; five years as
a supplemental staff member for the Jefferson C. Davis Center for
Hyperbaric Medicine at Brooks Air Force Base, Texas; and two years
on the clinical staff of the hyperbaric centers at Methodist and
Nix hospitals in San Antonio, Texas and from 1998 until 2004, he
was the Director of Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Center
at Osteopathic Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Dennis is also currently, the Clinical Coordinator of the Center
for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Huguley Memorial Medical
Center in Fort Worth, Texas, where he supervises the daily operation
of a premier facility that sees over 5000 patients annually.
Dennis
holds a bachelor degree in Social Psychology and associate degrees
in both Allied Health and Nursing. He holds
the additional
certification as Advanced Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse.
His recent awards include; “Great 100 Nurses of Dallas/Fort
Worth”, “Nurse Week Nursing Excellence Award Finalist”,
and Fort Worth Business Press “Medical Hero”.
